OHHH HELLO! I'M KAYE

I have always loved creating things, even from a young age. It started out with a passion for theatre and film set design, and I have studied and worked behind the scenes for theatres across the UK, creating costumes, sets, props and lighting designs.

However, after struggling with the sporadic nature of season-to-season employment in the theatre, I went back to further education. I studied Art and Design at the Kent Institute of Art & Design, now UCA (University of the Creative Arts), and then went on to Bath Spa University where I completed my BA Hons in Graphic Design. Working for both large and small design firms across multiple areas such as print, web services and animation, I have developed significant knowledge in and a great passion for the creative industries.

In 2011, I started OhhhKaye as a Freelance Branding and Graphic Design company. I loved the craziness of never knowing what each day may bring and who I may be working with next. I loved branding and working for small businesses; many of which had such passion for what they did. My clients included Mack Multiples, Bottle Bazaar, Endometriosis UK, She Trust UK, Fujitsu, MBA House, Kent Wildlife Trust and many more.

In 2019, I was offered a chance to go back into employment and thou it was a hard decision to make, I found myself open to a new challenge and so I accepted the offer.
I am currently creating graphics, videos, animations and more for a small but passionate business, that works with training apprenticeships in the hospitality industry.

OHHH THE PERSONAL STUFF

I live with my husband Ben and our cat Ziggy (named after the late, great David Bowie's persona) in a little Victorian terraced cottage in the Kent countryside. With sheep, ducks and a pheasant called Pete as our neighbours, life is never quiet!

I'm very passionate about women's health, especially in the areas of Endometriosis and other chronic pain conditions, as well as mental health issues.

I adore teaching the next generation of creatives the skills they need to make it big in the design world, which is why I have also worked as a sessional lecturer in Visual Communications and Digital Imagery, Design Practice and Multimedia Practice at Canterbury Christ Church University

In my spare time I doodle and create illustrations and art works just for fun. I draw inspiration from life, nature, patterns, textures, food, random thoughts/stories and music, particularly when I am practicing yoga and meditation. I love to draw and never tire of the beauty and inspiration in the world around me.

You can buy my own personal work from Redbubble and S6 stores worldwide.
I also create my own webcomics OhhhEndo and Ziggy the Naughty Cat and I regularly take part in the Twitter #colourcollective on Fridays from 7.30pm.

My digital Paper53 iPad doodles have been featured with the app's designers fiftythree via Instagram and my work for Endometriosis UK has been seen on the ITV programme "Lorraine" and in national and online press. My illustrations have featured in the Guardian newspaper, alongside an article on women's health.
